Kast Media is seeking a rockstar Associate Producer who is passionate and well versed in the worlds of digital video and audio production. You’ll report directly to one or more Producers – supporting a wide array of daily operations for a number of Talk Show Podcasts. Responsibilities span from scheduling and asset organization to deliverables tracking and guest interview prep. You’ll represent Kast Media while interfacing with high-profile guests and our regular hosts.

A background in audio/video production is a major plus, especially if you’ve supported shoots, podcast/music recording sessions, etc. A collaborative attitude is a must. Qualifications

  • 1-3 Yrs Media Production Experience (new media and/or podcasts).
  • Organized: Knows how to keep many digital assets well organized, uploaded, and shared with all affiliated teams. Comfortable with ever-changing itineraries and scheduling.
  • Post-Production: MUST be trained and adept at editing both audio and video media. Hands-on audio editing experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Directly assisting one or more Producers – helping to run all show creative/logistics.
  • Detailed production tracking for producer and senior staff reporting.
  • First-pass editor for episodes prior to initial post delivery – first incorporating talent/producer creative notes.
  • You are the first line of Quality Control – you must be very detailed.
  • Editing advertisements and integrating ad-reads into episodes.
  • Identifying/creating clips including SRTs for social platforms.
  • Finalizing edits when required.
  • Post Tracking: Keeping a close eye on post; making sure that the editor’s deliverables are delivered on time.
  • Communication: You bridge the gap between the studio tech and production teams.
  • Make sure recordings run smoothly, taking extensive notes throughout a “shoot” to assist Producer and speed up the post-production process.
  • Attend weekly producer meetings and provide input/updates to support your Producer(s) when applicable.

The role is a remote-based, entry-level position on the sponsorship team supporting post-sale sponsorships. In this role, you will be a valuable member of our sponsorship team involved in all aspects of growing Kast Media as a successful vehicle for content creators (podcast shows) and sponsors. Kast Studios are in Los Angeles, and we gather the entire team together for face-to-face meetings at least once each year, most often in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate has 1-5 years of work experience, but we will consider a recent graduate for the role.

This individual will join a team successful at building a premium podcast network from the ground up, producing and representing for sponsorship hit shows across multiple genres. The role is an opportunity to learn all aspects of podcasting and be a part of a team where everyone has a voice in building Kast Media as a company.

Qualifications

Role and Responsibilities

  • Transfer of data from between show documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Update various data including financial, inventory, the status of sponsors in the spreadsheet.
  • Organize existing spreadsheets for the accuracy of data.
  • Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records.
  • Cross-reference podcast episodes with spreadsheets if the information on sponsorship inside the episode, accurately time-stamping where ads occur.
  • Input “insertion points” and other data according to predetermined guidelines.
  • Update and keep current reference spreadsheets of all information relating to in-episode advertising.
  • Make decisions about where an ad placement would make sense in the context of the content.
  • Join onboarding calls with clients and show producers as needed.
  • Remind shows of upcoming ads weekly.

Kast is looking for a full-time Marketing Associate to join our team.  The role works closely with both the Sales and Operations teams to build and execute successful sponsorships on behalf of our many podcasts.  

The ideal candidate will be a podcast enthusiast or have an interest in the fast-growing space of podcasting.  This role requires strong attention to detail, time management skills, the ability to prioritize, and a desire to achieve successful outcomes for our sponsors within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Running production on one or more flagship series for Kast Media.
  • Keeping your team’s operations/uploads on track and on time.
  • Maintaining ongoing series quality control.
  • Regularly presenting creative content strategy and insights to executive staff and Senior Producer. These include: Technical Insights, Promotional Insights, Brand Enhancements, and Talent Relationship Insights.
  • Identifying ways to grow your show(s) both episodically and as a broader IP.
  • Driving general aesthetics, set design, and branding strategies with the Senior Producer.
  • Presenting analytics and engagement to all show stakeholders on a defined, regular basis.
  • When required, do first-pass edits for episodes and send to talent for quick review/feedback.
  • Production budgeting experience.

Kast Media is looking for a talented Associate Producer to join our team! The Associate Producer will work closely with our team of producers on The Opportunist to create smart, original content. We are a collaborative, small team that believes in the power of honest, non-sensationalized storytelling. The Associate Producer role will include a lot of research. We want someone who is internet savvy but also comfortable calling archival libraries, requesting court documents and going down rabbit holes looking for the right story. The AP will also transcribe interviews, manage the calendar, and participate in group edit sessions. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, proactive in their work style, with a sense of curiosity, and most importantly, a love for podcasts. 

  • 2+ years of audio production experience
