Kast Media is looking for a Marketing/Content Distribution Associate who will serve directly under the Director of Content Distribution. This person will manage marketing and public relations across our slate of shows, both existing and upcoming, and will help execute all show launches. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing and ambitious podcast company that’s leading the charge in multi-channel podcast listening and viewing. We are looking for a podcast and marketing enthusiast who would like to build their career at our company. This position has the ability to work remotely. 

How Will You Spend Your Time?

  • Service as the Marketing Associate on each upcoming show launch, assist with all aspects of marketing and promotion of that show, through building the marketing plan, to pitching and booking interviews and press 
  • Research and execute cross-promotion opportunities for our existing slate of shows
  • Research and pitch hosts to podcasts and other media outlets for wide exposure of our current and upcoming slate of shows
  • Assist in the build of show marketing plans, inclusive of press, ads and marketing, and execute outreach
  • Create marketing one-sheets and pitch materials
  • Maintain internal databases and records to track each show’s exposure and conversion over time
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing Director, Sales, and Operations to identify ways to increase revenue for each show and strategically grow a show’s audience

You Should Have:

  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing or PR
  • Passion for the podcasting industry 
  • An ability to understand what’s working on other podcasts and apply that to Kast shows 
  • Excellent research skills
  • Strong copywriting capabilities for creating marketing materials and pitches
  • A professional attitude, strong communication skills, and detail-oriented instincts

Kast Media is seeking an experienced podcast Producer to run a high-profile show with over 15 million downloads predominantly focus on The Bachelor. As the lead producer on the team, you will be working closely and in-studio with the show’s host, co-producers, and full production team to deliver 3 premiere quality episodes a week. In working with the team you will flesh out creative ideas, outline run-of-shows, manage tech logistics, book talent, work intimately with the engineers to produce both audio and video content, and ultimately help grow the show. 

How Will You Spend Your Time?

  • Produce all elements of premiere quality content from conception to launch
  • Work closely with hosts to strategize and flesh out ideas to create dynamic and engaging content
  • Serve as the key communicator between Kast and talent to provide resources and complete episodes within company protocol, best practices, and standards
  • Project manage multiple episodes at once as well as be able to plan ahead to account for changes in the talent’s schedule
  • Provide editors with detailed notes on episode drafts for quick and easy turnarounds, as well as use subjective discernment around sensitive topics and maintaining the culture of the show
  • Book and coordinate interviews with guests – both in-studio and virtually

You Should Have:

  • Previously worked on high profile podcasts with intense and tight deadlines
  • An extensive rolodex of contacts, preferably in the current pop culture zeitgeist and the Bachelor universe
  • Be local to the Los Angeles/Hollywood area
  • An incredibly proactive, problem-solving nature
  • Excellent time management skills
  • An ability to collaborate well with a good attitude. We leave our egos at the door and work together to build something great! 
  • Shown ability to give and receive feedback
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite and Google Suite products

Kast Media is looking for a Writer/Producer who will work on Kast’s narrative history podcast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing and ambitious podcast company that’s leading the charge in multi-channel podcast listening and viewing. This position will ultimately work out of our Los Angeles-based studio. We are looking for a podcast enthusiast who is passionate about writing for audio and is excited by all the possibilities the medium has to offer. 

How Will You Spend Your Time?

  • Serve as a writer/producer for a historical narrative about the Iranian hostage crisis
  • Work in collaboration with senior producer to research, write, and edit scripts
  • Produce episodes in collaboration with the senior producer and showrunners
  • Research and identify archive interviews, videos, and supplemental materials
  • Interview journalists, historians, and other experts 
  • Report to the senior producer weekly
  • Participate and sometimes lead group feedback sessions and table reads

You Should Have:

  • 3-5  years of experience writing and producing on a narrative podcast or relevant historical narrative experience
  • An ability to write specifically for audio and an understanding of how this is different from other mediums (print, screenwriting)
  • A firm grasp on story structure
  • A passion for innovative storytelling
  • A degree in journalism or history; MA and/or focus on Middle East History preferred
  • An ability to write to a specific voice
  • Passion for the podcasting industry 
  • Excellent research skills
  • A proactive, problem-solving nature
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Strong copywriting capabilities for creating loglines, episode descriptions, social media assets, and marketing materials
  • A professional attitude, strong communication skills and detail-oriented instincts

Kast Media is looking for a Writer with expertise in history and/or journalism to work on our newest podcast that examines the darker elements of American history through a critical lens.  You’ll be working closely with both show creators and hosts as well as producers to research, outline, and ultimately script a polished final draft for recording.  

How Will You Spend Your Time?

  • Work in collaboration with the lead writer to revise and edit scripts
  • Produce episodes in collaboration with the lead producer
  • Work closely with the researcher to gather all the necessary information for a story
  • Interview characters in the story being produced
  • Pitch story ideas
  • Report to the lead producer weekly
  • Participate and sometimes lead group feedback sessions and table reads

You Should Have:

  • 3-5  years of experience writing and producing on a narrative podcast or relevant writing experience
  • A passion for the podcasting industry
  • An ability to write specifically for audio and an understanding of how this is different from other mediums 
  • Thorough understanding of the nuances of American History
  • An understanding of audio production software, specifically Adobe Audition
  • A passion for innovative storytelling
  • An ability to write to the host’s voice
