PACT: Platform for Advertiser to Creator Transparency

We recognize that the 2023 failure of Kast is responsible for exposing a flaw in common "Revenue-Share Creator" representation industry operating procedures, described in Colin Thomson’s Open Letter to the Creator Economy.

Kast made mistakes; we own them. 

But the scars are the blueprint.

Unless creator-driven companies move to new operating standards, history is doomed to repeat itself.

Kast stands ready to meet our past failures head-on and introduce a system for radical accountability, transparency, and protection in Creator Economy relationships. 

Through PACT, we aim to show the industry a better way forward. And we’re leading by example, taking immediate action by creating an operational structure that provides our creators with visibility and protection of fund flow each step of the way.

The following lays out our operating procedure for third-party creator content represented through the Kast platform.

Accounting Cashflow Operating Structure:

• Trust Through Transparency
  • Within 72 hours of receiving payment or remittance information from the advertiser (whichever comes later):
    • The total funds associated with payment to a specific creator will be transferred to and held in a Creator Trust Account. Both Kast and the creator will own and have visibility into the account. Funds in this account will not be used for operational purposes by any party.
    • The Creator will be provided with the remittance information provided from the advertiser, with any other creator’s information obscured if needed.
  • Disbursements to creator and Kast will occur simultaneously, within 72 hours of the creator deliverable confirmation.

We're immediately enacting operational flow to ensure that transparency and fund protection are automatic.

Trust is earned slowly, not through words, but through actions over an extended period.
